There are magical places that exist within each one of us, inside our minds, hearts, and souls. By visiting these places, we can tap into the infinite and bring peace and abundance into our lives.

Each journey will be unique, as we are unique, so you may want to have a notebook and pen nearby to record your experience afterward. You may choose to have another person read the meditation to you so you may experience it more fully.

Find a comfortable place, close your eyes, open your mind, and prepare yourself to travel within.

Sometimes it seems like we’ve run out of options, and the world around us just doesn’t care. Sometimes we look around and don’t see a clear path to our goal.

Today, let’s take a trip together through the Stone Labyrinth, and look for the paths we may have missed.

Mist and emerald green hills rise all around you.  The sky is overcast, and everything is eerily quiet.  You get the sense that you are in a very ancient place, a place that has been around since humans first came into being.

Before you rise tall walls of gray stone.  They stretch into the distance and form a pattern up the side of one of the hills.  It’s a huge, intricate labyrinth, and you must enter it … for in the heart of it lies your heart’s truest desire. Read More »

Being Present.

It’s a phrase that has become quite popular in the last few years. But how does someone really become present? What does it take to be in the moment? What is it that can keep us from being in this state? Learning to be present can be difficult but it is certainly attainable.

Here are some ways I have found that can help us to be present in our own lives:

Practice Being Quiet

Take five minutes out of your day and turn off whatever might be a distraction: a cell phone, home phone, music, or anything else that could easily distract you.  Step outside or find a quiet space in your house.  Sit and listen.  Let your thoughts drift without paying attention to them.  How does this make you feel?  Try to disconnect from the outside noises and connect with what’s going on inside of yourself. Today, let’s take a quiet walk together through a peaceful park on a rainy day. After a quiet walk in the rain, you’ll feel refreshed and peaceful, as though all your stress has just been rinsed away.

The day is overcast, with clear drops of rain falling from the sky and making little silvery puddles at your feet.  The sound of the rain hitting the trees and your umbrella is so very soothing.  Your umbrella is clear, and when you look straight up you can see the pewter sky, the clouds, and little droplets of rain making intricate patterns that run down the sides of your umbrella.

You’re walking through a beautiful manicured little park, and you are alone.  The rain has kept everyone else away, yet you find it peaceful.  Though everything around you seems gray and dreary, the trees are so fiercely green and vivid that looking at them brings you great, quiet pleasure. Let’s walk together and truly look at the people surrounding us.  The media and our culture seem to spend so much time dwelling on the negative in the people every day that sometimes we forget the goodness they all around us are capable of.

So let’s focus this week on honoring the goodness in them and forgiving their imperfections.  In the end, that is the only way we can truly honor and forgive ourselves as well. Read More »
